GMB, the union for school support staff, welcome scrapping of plans by School Governors at Rowley Hall Primary School in Windsor Road, Rowley Regis, West Midlands to go ahead with cut the service at Rowley Owls Nursery for local children and their parents.
GMB members were outside the school on Friday 2 October 2016 to speak to parents, staff and the community to support the campaign and to get signatures for the petition. See notes to editors for copy of GMB press release.
Gillian Whittaker, GMB Regional Officer said "We have just heard the brilliant news from a meeting with the union and the Head Teacher at Rowley Hall Primary School.
They have informed us that the proposals have been scrapped. The next 12 months will be spent working with our members in the nursery to improve standards ready for the next OFSTED report.
GMB would like to thank all the public and members of staff for supporting our campaign."
