GMB CALL OFF INDUSTRIAL ACTION AT DHL BANBURY AFTER MEMBERS VOTE TO ACCEPT NEW PAY OFFER

This is excellent pay deal and goes a long way towards our members aspirations of £10 an hour says GMB

GMB has called off industrial action after more than 200 members at DHL in Banbury voted on 19th November in favour to accept revised pay offer in a dispute over pay. See notes to editors for copy of previous GMB press release on the dispute.

David Day, GMB Organiser said "GMB members at DHL have voted in favour to accept 3.5% plus 27p per hour increase on all base rates. This now takes the hourly rate from £8.43 to £9.00 an hour and also stops the differentials from growing. All industrial action has now been called off.

This is excellent pay deal and goes a long way towards our members and GMB's aspirations of £10 an hour. GMB would like to recognise the hard work of the members and DHL for reopening talks with us to avoid any action from being taken."

Press Release dated 22 October 2015.

GMB TO BALLOT MEMBERS EMPLOYED BY DHL IN BANBURY FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION IN PAY DISPUTE

It is disappointing that DHL has allowed a situation to arise where members feel there only course of action is to take some form of industrial action says GMB

GMB Birmingham Region is to ballot over 200 members employed by DHL at three warehouses at the Cherwell Campus in Banbury for industrial action in a pay dispute

The ballot opens on Friday 23rd October and will close on 6th November.

David Day, GMB Organiser, said "The majority of our members rejected a 2.5% pay offer and I conveyed this rejection to the company.

I am disappointed that DHL has allowed a situation to arise where GMB members feel there only course of action is to take some form of industrial action.

GMB is hoping that action can be avoided and a resolution can be found, but it is the members who work for DHL in Banbury who will decide what happens next.

We are hoping to resume talks with DHL to come to some sort of agreement. However industrial action is the last resort so we are asking the company to reopen talks to improve the offer".
